It would be extremely useful to be able to filter the current active players or if we can have a another option maybe "current Players" would be very helpful in avoiding having to use other software to display this seasonal information for frontend users.

This is your URL:
http://sfscl.com/breakaway-cricket-club-2/
So what you want is to just see active players only.
You can do this by linking directly to the "player list" report rather than the public web site.
I will provide you with instructions on how to do this later today. I just need to do a couple of adjustments to the report first. Standby.
OK Here are three options.
1. Add &active=1 to the URL that you are rendering in the frame (example: https://www2.cricketstatz.com/ss/web.aspx?mode=20&club=25751&active=1) This is the easiest option. Note that if you click on Players in the menu then it will revert back to the full player list.
2. Link your frame directly to the player report URL https://www2.cricketstatz.com/ss/runreport2.aspx?mode=20&club=25751&active=1 Note that you will need to add the club/team title to each. I got this URL via the Reports section of the admin panel when I select the "Player List" report.
3. Embed the following HTML code in your page to render the report:
<script src='https://www2.cricketstatz.com/ss/linkreport.aspx?mode=20&club=25751&active=1'></script>
Option 3 is the cleanest. More info can be found at https://www.cricketstatz.com/adding-reports-to-your-web-site
