Hello, our club's historical data only consists of player names, runs scored and wickets taken. Am I still able to add this data to cricket stats? I Tried it for one player as a test and it did not show thier career runs or careers wickets.
What I found is you also need to create an entry in the Matches played, even if unknown it is left as zero, otherwise the career data would not appear in the reports. Well it was like that when I entered all my historical data
So it doesn't need matches played but it did require a Team be entered as well. I have removed the necessity for a team now (but I would encourage you to add the team name if you know it).
@apcceagles It is a name mis-match. I assume this is importing historical data from a spreadsheet/CSV file - correct? You need to check that the name in the spreadsheet matches that in the database precisely.
If you can't get this to work then post up the exact message (including the specific player name) and I can have a look at your database and let you know what you are doing wrong.
I thought I would tack onto the discussion about Historical Data.
As Cricket Statz has advanced over the years there seems to be a few different ways of adding historical data now which affects various reports.
It seems when adding historical data you can elect to tick the “Career stats” button either on or off.
If you tick it “on” then on Players individual stats pages, only the Summary tab includes this Historical career data, as its not included in the Grade, Team, Season, Opposition and Ground tabs for the player.
However this data will also appear in the aggregate reports such as top run aggregates, top wicket takers, complete player summary reports.
If you tick it “off” and enter a year of 9999 then this data will not only appear in the Players individual stats Summary tab but also in the Grade, Team and Season tabs (the career data will be displayed as season 9999 which is ok by me as it obvious its career data) for the player.
The data will then appear in the other above mentioned reports but noting the data is not included in the “in a season” reports – which is good as it doesn’t seem to like season 9999.
However if you tick it “off” and enter a year of 1988 (as an example) then this data will not only appear in the Players individual stats Summary tab but also in the Grade, Team, Season tabs (career data will be shown in season 1988) for the player, which on the surface sounds ok but when looking at the other reports mentioned it now appears in the “in a season” reports – which is bad as all the career data will be in Season 1988 (in this example) making that season look ridiculous.
So am I correct in saying you can enter the historical data, then tick off the career button, enter the year as 9999 and it will add the info to most of the Players individual stats tabs (exc opposition and grounds) but it won’t affect the “in a season” reports?
Absolutely!
You should be doing this via the admin panel and then setup and then History.
Click on the Add New Entry and then select Batting, and then enter the Player Name, Runs and tick Career:

I am investigating. Standby

@apcceagles How did you go with this?
