When inputting some scorecards from many years ago, I have come across a 2 innings game where it was played as a 12-a-side match (it was a tour match). In the first innings, all twelve players batted although fortunately number 12 was 0 not out. The second and third innings were declared before number 12 got in. There wasn't a fourth innings.
I don't see any way that I can enter the details for the twelfth man. Is that correct?
We have a similar but not the same issue with our competition whereby you can have up to 13 players named but only 11 can bat. In this case you can increase the players per team from 11 to 12 or more in the setup page for Divisions but this would then apply to all matches in that Division. I found this throws up more issues with FOW and match results looking for 11 or more wickets when there is only still 10 to be had.
So what we did was just add the extra player to the 2nd inns of the match (Assuming not every player happens to bats twice) or if its only 1 inns then we add the player to the bowling card with bowling figs of 0/0/0/0 which then counts a match played for them despite not being listed in the batting line up. This would not work in your situation if the 12th player batted and made runs.
I've just recently encountered one issue with this solution though.. whereby we actually had all 12 players bowl in one of the above situations and as it was only a 1 inns match and you can only enter 11 bowlers on the scorecard.. so i've just made a note in the match notes describing the issue by not including his 1 over bowled - as this player never bowls anyway and would hardly care his 1 over is missing from their career stats.
Not sure this exactly solves your problem but it may provide an alternate solution.

Thanks for your suggestion. I had hoped that this game might be an exception but I have just been looking at a scorebook that we have from the 1880s and I can see that there are a few games there where 12 men played and batted. I think the answer is to set such games up under a separate division which will allow 12 players. It does look as if these old games did allow 12 players to bat rather than what we see these days when you have 12 players but only 11 can bat. These old games are always friendlies so I think the separate division is the best way round this.
@Joel Norman Thanks for provided ideas here.
@Brian Papworth I agree that the best way to handle this is to create a separate division for these odd games and set that division to allow 12 players.
