Hi Mark
No idea what is happening here. On this report https://www2.cricketstatz.com/ss/runreport2.aspx?mode=39&club=4580&grade=0&ground=&mtype=&pool=Sen&sday=1&smonth=Jan&sYear=1800&eday=30&emonth=Dec&eYear=9999&finals=0&team=0&oppteam=0&round=&mininns=0&minmatches=0 The only filters selected are Pool ("Sen") and Club/League ("North County")
There are lots of players appearing in the report who havenever played for North County but are appearing with a number of matches played and nothing else. Examples on this report are Lorcan Tucker, Tim Townend, NC Taylor, Zac Scott, Neil Rock and many more, The same thing is happening when other clubs are selected with many of the players being the same. I can't narrow it down more than that.
I have posted up links to new audit reports for you at https://www.cricketstatz.com/support-forum/questions/audit-captains-and-keepers-not-listed-on-batting-lineup
A summary for those that are curious:
A couple of days ago I fixed the Top Wicket Keeping report where the byes weren't always being picked up. To do this, I added some new data fetches to the overall reporting system which would look at keepers at a match-level (rather than at an innings level).
This new change highlighted a data issue when a keeper may be listed on the match details page but they weren't on the corresponding batting scorecard for that particular team. If it happens that the keepers had been accidentally swapped then it will show this on the complete player summary report as the player having played for the opposition team (as was the case with Paul's issue report).
This is simply bad data and the only fix to this is to edit the match details and correct the wicket keeper entries.
To help find matches, I have implemented two new audit reports to detect keepers and captains where they don't have a corresponding entry in the batting lineup for the specified team. These reports can be found in the admin panel/reports area. I would encourage everyone to run these reports and fix listed matches.
I can't actually view that link (since that report can't be viewed publicly) but I suspect I might know the problem. Let me investigate.
@Paul Reynolds Would these extra players be typically wicket keepers by any chance?
Good spot! Yes they are. I never would have spotted that
OK, re-run it please. Have they disappeared now?
Oddly, most seem to have disappeared, but it looks like still a few keepers there.
Can you let me know one of the players that is there still (when they should not be) and their player ID?
Here are a couple Patrick Tice - 64223 Ciaran Divney - 66812 Lots more if you need them
OK Do you mind going in and looking at the match (via the admin panel/match details):
Merrion 1 Vs North County 1
Anglesea Road
13 Aug 2011
Who is set up as the Keeper for North County?
Is it Patrick Tice?
Same again with Ciaran Divney - he is listed as the keeper for North County (rather than Railway Union) for the following match:
Railway Union 1 Vs North County 1
Park Avenue
22 Jun 2013
This is why these guys are still showing up on this report. The fix will be to edit the match and swap the keepers around so they are correct.
I probably need to create an audit report to show matches where keepers are listed for the wrong team. Would that help?
(And just for the record - the reason why they are suddenly showing is that I recently updated the byes for the wicket keepers report - and these data errors got detected as a result of that addition)
On the road now but will get that done later. Any idea how that could have happened?
Thanks Mark. Yes to the audit report. I'm trying to work out how to find them without it!
I will work on an audit report for you. Standby.
How could it have happened in the first place? I notice that these matches were first published from external and then the fixture was edited a few years afterwards. I can't tell what happened with the fixture edit but if the home and away teams were swapped and the keepers and captains weren't swapped as well then this would explain how it happened. Either that, or it was the original data had the error and it has never been picked up.
Which brings me to the point - you should also check the captains aren't backwards as well. I will include that check in the audit report.
