With an enforced lay off for everyone in the northern hemisphere, I'm sure lots are looking at expanding their database.
But I'm trying to confirm the various options for importing matches, before I work out what the best way forward is. 1. Via the set up - "Import Matches" option. Matches can be inputted from Play Cricket. MyCricket, Cricket Star and CricHQ 2. Importing an map file from Total Cricket Scorer
3. By submitting an old Cricket Statz v11 database that can create a separate Cricket Statz online database. (My understanding is that you cannot merge a v11 database with an existing online database?
But as far as I can tell, there is no way of importing the following to an existing database. 4. From an old v11 .csd file (as detailed above) 5. From old v11 .mpx files (ie on a match by match basis) 6. Text scorecards that exist on websites. On v11 there used to be a form of text import, but that doesn't exist any more? Can it be confirmed that the only way to enter cards as detailed in 4, 5 and 6 is to manually enter each card?
You are correct with 1-3.
I would add that you can also use the API to upload matches into Cricket Statz.
You can also import historical summary data as a CSV file.
To answer your questions:
I am able to help people with old v11 (or earlier) databases to get them imported into their existing online database - although I encourage people to do this upfront when we set up their initial migration. It takes a long time to do each one so I ask that they prepare their matches in a single database and I can do it as a once-off. I charge a fee for further databases to cover the time to migrate.
There is no "text import" option at the moment. If you feel that you need this then post it up as a suggestion and we will see how popular it is.
