Hi, just a couple of questions to try and understand the system better.
I have been checking old data (not entered by me) & have found the odd time that a Keeper catch has been entered as a 'catch' not 'caught behind' - how does this get recorded against the keeper - as a catch or caught behind.
- The keeper is noted on the front screen of the match details.
- I know when you are entering caught behinds now the keeper's name automatically drops in (if it is noted on the front screen) but I am guessing if 2 keepers are noted then you would need to watch which one drops in.
Now that you can nominate a second keeper how do you record the byes that each of them may have had.
Cheers
Catches vs Caught Behinds - they both get recorded as a catch against the fielder and they will both show up as keeper catches if the fielder is nominated as the keeper. The advantage of recording it is caught behind is that (a) it is shown on the batter's profile as a caught behind - allowing them to know how many they are snicking to the keeper and (b) if the fielder isn't tagged as a keeper on the match page then they will at least be tagged as a keeper for this catch. In short, try and select caught behind where possible (but if the keeper's catch is only tagged as caught then it is still ok provided the fielder is tagged as a keeper).
If two keepers are entered on the match screen, then yes, you just need to take care that the correct keeper is chosen for each caught behind. The same applies to stumpings.
As for byes when two keepers are nominated for a match - the system doesn't quite know how to divide these up (since there isn't a way to nominate how to split byes) so it takes a conservative approach and gives each of them the full complement of byes for the innings.
I hope that covers it all off.
