The data in my single club database is a combination of match scorecards and imported data. With regard to the imported data for best bowling and run scores it was imported by season / by division with a players best bowling and best batting performance. Cricket Statz picks up the earliest date for a player and division and this best performance appears in these reports. This makes the reports a combination of actual debut performances but also best performance in a debut season.
With the exception of a few missing seasons I can go back and enter the actual debut performance for batting and bowling. In using the add new entry am I correct in using the run scores and best bowling import feature?
Secondly if a player didn't bat or bowl in the debut game will leaving the run score and bowling figures blank in the add new entry feature allow the debut game date and division to be entered and therefore make these reports more accurate?
To answer your questions:
1. Yes, adding best batting and best bowling in an innings historical data entries will have them show on the on-debut reports if they are the earliest dated entries.
2. If they did not bat or bowl - I am not sure if it will allow a blank entry for batting and bowling in the historical data. Feel free to try it though. I am not sure we have a solution for this one at the moment.
Hi Mark - just to advise that it will not allow a blank entry for batting and bowling for a debut game as a historical data entry. The screen gives the 'oops' message. Could it be set to add DNB?
