Hi Mark - having a problem with this report. The report for our club is here:
https://www2.cricketstatz.com/ss/web.aspx?newpage=1&mode=49&club=20717&team=
The data for wickets 1-5, and 10, is accurate.
The data for wickets 6 through 9 is wrong. The partnership value is actually the innings total, and the two players allegedly involved are essentially random from our teamsheet. Please use the date link in the report to see what I mean.
Regards, Peter Andrew (Surrey Cryptics CC)
Hi Peter,
Thanks for reaching out.
I have moved this over to the questions section since I believe it is not a system issue as such. I will explain.
You have retirements in the matches that are showing the wrong partnership totals. I suspect it is simply because you have got retirements but you have not completed the runs at which the batsman retired at.
Cricket Statz is only as smart as the data that gets put in and when something is missing then the partnership calculations go astray.
Can you check for me? Go and edit the innings for one of the matches and check that you have entered the runs that the batsman retired at. If you haven't, enter the runs, hit save, and it should fix itself.
Let me know how you go.
And the match for the 8th wicket partnership:
https://www2.cricketstatz.com/ss/web.aspx?club=20717&mode=100&match=166922
The first not out batsman is not listed in the FOW - add them and it will fix itself. (I assume it was Kenny that should be listed)
I’ve been randomly finding this Same issue in some of our partnership records as well. The issue is when going back to the old scorebook to find when the batsman actually retired I’ve yet to find one occurrence when someone has written down the team score when the batsman retired! So I’ve just had to make up the team score when the batsman retired to try and get the partnership to look vaguely correct.
For those old games I have just gone and ticked the box "Incomplete" below the partnerships, it then removes that match from the partnership calculation. Only real worry there is if you do have a record and need it to be back in calculation, the only way around this is Joel's method of adding an arbitrary score for the retirement.
Thanks Mark (and to Joel and Pat). I've now rectified the omissions, and everything now looks correct. Fortunately, I still maintain the old, off-line system as well (easy for a one-team, 15 matches-or-so-a-year club), so I could reconcile against that data.
