I've been going back over all our 'old results' for the winning margins as they used to be set to automatic in the old Vers 11 and I've now been resetting some of them.
Our comp has either 2 days games or 1 day games - and for the 1 day games we've had 3 types of formats..
1 - both teams play 40 ovs each not matter what the first team scores,
2 - we play 40 ovs but if the 2nd team passes the score the match is over
3 - we play 40 over but if the 2nd team passes the score you continue for at least 25ovs
So it makes the winning margin calc interesting, we've pretty made up our own interpretation but we've said for format 1 above that the winning margin is in "runs" as both teams faced the same number of overs each, for format 2 it's by "wickets" as the match stops so you can't really say you've won by 1 run if you passed the opposition in just 30 ovs, for format 3 we've said the winning margin is also "wickets" as neither team faced the same number of overs.
I'm sure others may have a different opinion but that's how we are doing it.
