Some of you may remember the batting order optimiser from the old PC software. Well... it's back!
It will calculate the optimal batting order of your top 7 batters, based on their success in each batting position, for any given team.
How it works
You run it from the admin panel/reports function. It is towards the end of the batting section (you may need to scroll the batting reports to the bottom).
You must pick a single team to run it on.
It will then look at the first 16 players of the team list and then work out the optimal batting order for the top 7 batters. It does this by taking each player's average score at each batting position (with a minimum of two scores at the given position) and then trying every possible permutation to find the optimal order of batters - all 57.6 million of them!
It will show the best set of batters and their expected scores including a total score for them.
Filter options
You can filter by season, date range, ground, division and opposition if you like. It is recommended to use the last 12-24 months as a date filter so that it represents the batters recent form.
Example output:
Try it today in the admin panel/reports batting section. Select the Batting Order Optimiser report, select your team, select a start/end date range to capture recent matches and then hit Run.
